Woohoo! Done with braces!

So, Tuesday was the big reveal! We took another set of impressions and made retainers on site. I'll wear these 24 hours a day (minus eating) until my bonded retainers come in next month. It was definitely a tough visit because of doing the impressions, but I can't complain since it was for a good cause. Below is a photo of me wearing the retainer...barely visible. Pretty big change from where we began. I'm also starting ZOOM whitening and am using it in my retainers each evening.

Thanks to all of you for following my blog -- it's been a great adventure!!

  2. Congratulations! And the braces came off just in time for the Holidays! Bet you enjoyed all the food served with no trouble. I’m a bit envious, actually, since my braces won’t come off until March. : ( But at least it’s just a few weeks from now. Happy new year, by the way!

  3. Must have been a relief to have your braces off before Christmas Eve! =D I’m pretty sure you enjoyed the holiday feast. You had 4 to 5 days tops to let your teeth and gums heal. I know your teeth were still weak a few days after your braces had been removed. Make sure to wear your retainers as directed by your orthodontist to keep your teeth straight, ok?

  4. I'm so glad I found your blog. Today I got my six months smile braces fitted and I'm in a whole load of pain. I'm glad that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully my pain eases in the next week. Like you, I will be stocking up on dental wax, my dentist only gave mem 4 strips. Your teeth are looking fab.

  5. Wow! Looking at your teeth, it seems that they look so much better now, unlike the first time you had your braces on. I think that it changed your look because I noticed that you looked younger. You look even more beautiful. Anyway, do you already have your bonded retainers?

  7. I’ve already read your entire dental journey, Lorie! And I’m so glad that you’ve finally overcome it. I'm doing invisalign right now. So, I'm not sure how well they work yet. Anyway, I bet you’re happy now and satisfied with the result. It’s been a long journey, after all, but definitely worth it.

  10. Nice! Your teeth look amazing. I've been thinking a lot about braces lately. I've heard about invisible braces. Is that what you did?
