10 Weeks Along in my Braces!

Just a quick check in!  All is well here.  No more brackets falling off and my teeth continue to straighten, slowly but surely.  Here's a quick cell phone shot of me at week 10.  If you compare this to week 6, (posted back in July) you'll see that my bottom row has straightened considerably.  Not bad progress for just one month's time!  At this point, I'm starting to notice some of the minor flaws -- like me chipped from tooth. But, until my braces come off, I can't do a darn thing about it. *sigh*  The good thing is that that will be a quick fix once everything is off.  (Or, at least the dentist has promised it will be a quick fix!!)

Hope everyone is well -- and that those of you starting your  journey in the Six Month Smile are having an easy go of it.  Signing off for now...

10 Weeks!

  1. The progress is very evident from the picture! Compared to your pictures last June, your teeth have continuously adjusted and become more aligned. By the time December comes along, your teeth will be perfectly aligned, and you’ll be able to flash a beautiful smile to all your family and friends. Have you started trying to eat harder food?

  2. It seems that you are one step closer to achieve that perfect smile! I checked your preceding post about your braces, and I say that you are having an awesome improvement! I couldn’t wait to see the end-result once your braces come off. Just be sure to follow your dentist’s instructions, and do a regular maintenance on your braces. Keep us posted!

  3. hey!! I got my six month braces 2 days ago. One question I have for you (maybe its just me) but when you first got your braces did u end up pulling ALOT of plastic out of your mouth from your back teeth? also when you floss do u find it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get inbetween some teeth? i have a few teeth that are so close together (or maybe its more plastic) that when i push the floss in it just shreds and doesnt even reach my gums. did you run into this as well?

  4. Hi Olivia,
Wow, it is NOT normal to be pulling plastic out of your mouth. That's what the dentist/ortho should have removed during your first appointment. It sounds like your dentist may have forgotten to remove those when he put your braces on.

Yes, it CAN be very difficult to get between some teeth. Especially at first if you have crowding/spacing issues. Talk to your dentist on your next visit. He can take a file (looks like a nail file) and just create a little bit of gap -- enough for you to get through. My own dentist did this for me and it made a world of difference.

    Hope you're doing well!

  5. Congrats! Soon enough you will have a very well aligned set of teeth. The picture shows that you are more or less half way through and I’m hoping to see more of the progress for the upcoming months and possibly the end result! Your braces have a pretty unique white color considering that everyone want theirs in darker colors.
